William R. Dade, 94, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at his home in Hillside, NJ.

He was an engineer at Western Electric in Kearny, retiring in 1978. He was a volunteer for Freedom Wings, an organization that teaches physically disabled people to fly gliders. He was also a member of the Union County Baseball League and once pitched both games of a double-header and they were both no-hitters.

He belonged to the Amateur Radio Club of Kearny, G. Marconi Radio in Middletown and the Astronomy Club in Cranford. He competed in the Senior Olympics and won many medals.

Mr. Dade was licensed to fly private single engine aircraft and gliders. He was a self-taught musician, loved playing golf and the amazing New York Mets.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Diane Dade, two nephews and a niece.
