John P. Dezzutti, 91, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born March 26, 1917 in Farmington, IL and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1945, moving there from Peoria, IL.

He had worked as a corporate pilot for Piper in Vero Beach, was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Dezzutti was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach and the Vero Beach Masonic Lodge No. 250 F & AM where he had been a Master Mason and a 32nd Degree Mason. He also was a former president of the Indian River County Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a member of the SSA for over 50 years. He was one of the founders and served as president, tow pilot, and instructor for the Suncoast Soaring Association in Vero Beach. He earned his Silver badge in his SGS 1-23. He also built and flew an LP-49.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Dezzutti of Vero Beach; a daughter Nancy S. Bucklew of Boca Raton, FL, a son John P. Dezzutti, III of Lakeside, CT, and six grandchildren (Sandra Joseph, Russell Bucklew, Rachyl Dezzutti, Rory Dezzutti, Riley Dezzutti, and Ryah Dezzutti.)
