Joe Rasymas (Carson City, NV), long time member of SSA and Chief Instructor at Soar Minden for 20 years, passed away on 5 October 2006. Joe was a ATP and Instructor who flew corporate aircraft for McDonald’s Restaurants as well as general aviation aircraft, helicopters, and of course gliders.

Joe accumulated over 35,000 hours of air time during his career and assisted hundreds of pilots in pursuit of their flight goals. Joe was a Certified Flight Instructor for 53 years and a current SSA Instructor at the time of his passing. He will be long remembered, and missed, by his friends around the world.

A celebration of Joe’s life and accomplishments will be held on Sunday afternoon, 12 November 2006, at Soar Minden’s offices at the Minden, NV airport.
