Peter C. Masak, 46, of West Chester, died Saturday, May 22, 2004 as the result of a glider accident.

He was the husband of Adrienne D. Butt Masak with whom he shared 11 years of marriage.

Born in Toronto, Canada, he was the son of Magdalene Holzhous Masak of Toronto and the late Frank Masak.

He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering field, and was employed as the mechanical competitions and was a Canadian and American gliding champion.
He was well-known internationally for his design of winglets for gliders, and was especially involved with the development of performance and safety features for gliders.

He authored a brochure entitled “Performance Enhancement of Modern Sailplanes.”
He was amember of Calvary Fellowship Church and a devoted father who spent a great deal of time with his children, Matthew C, Gabriela M. and Geneva M., all at home; a brother Tom of Markham, Canada, and a sister, Ingrid Mida of Toronto, Canada.
