Since we’re not submitting any sensitive info (or any info for that matter), it should be safe to tell your firewall that it’s an OK site.

For me Glidepwort Aero is OFF. Hope some of the smart techie types will fix this situation. The cert died on July 1, 2021.

I have tried to make this work but I get an error stating Bad SPOT URL. I can paste the URL in a browser and the shared tracking page appears. What else can I try?

The good news for the US Soaring Team is that the 36th WGC in Montlucon-Gueret scheduled for August 2021 is going forward. All the news from the organizers is that France will open up at the end of June. Local friends in Montlucon say that restaurants and local businesses are opening up and business is good.

The US Soaring Team has been holding bi-weekly Zoom meetings with ever increasing enthusiasm for a great contest. I just received an email from the Contest Manager BĂ©atrice de Reynal confirming that the previously cancelled International Night is back on. This night is always the highlight of the social side if a WGC. https://www.wgc2021.fr/

We are sending six pilots. Sarah Arnold and Tom Holloran in Standard Class, Daniel Sazhin and JP Stewart in Club Class and Sean Murphy and Tim Taylor in 15M.

Please keep an eye on our team page here and on social media for regular updates on our preparations and contest flying.

Colin Mead
Team captain

The Sailplane Tracker uses SPOT or InReach tracking information to show sites and pilots from the entire USA and beyond. There is also a safety aspect to the SSA Tracker. Plots who are late, land out, or have not reported in can be located by club members, family, or contest officials using this tool. All pilots who carry a SOPT or InReach tracker (and we all should) are encouraged to sign up on the GlidePort Aero website to enter their information. The service is free.

To sign up from the SSA Home page goto Racing > Sailplane Tracker

From the SSA Sailplane Tracker page click the GlidePort Aero link in the upper left (it looks like text) to create an account, sign in or change your information.
