In preparation for her 2nd Women’s World Gliding Championships, this year in the Czech Republic, USA’s own Sarah Kelly Arnold flew for several days with Karl Striedieck at the Seniors contest in March of this year.

Sarah flew into Orlando early in the week of competition and was the guest of Wes and Judy Lineberry for her time at Seminole Gliderport.  For 3 of the contest days Sarah flew with KS.

“Sarah has all the right stuff to take the gold at the WGC in the Czech Republic this month. I guess that’s what one would expect from an aviation “nut’ such as she. The classic teenage ride-your-bike-to-the-‘drome fanatic, soloed without any dual, A+P school, IA designation, gliderport operator (read financial hazard), and comp wining “natural stick” all bode well for her.

At the recently concluded Perry contest she contributed her CallAir and helped launch the entire 65-ship grid before hopping in the loaner Standard Cirrus with unknown instrumentation and burying the competition. Experience, stamina, goal orientation, take no prisoner attitude – looking good for success!”  Karl Striedieck, multiple US National champion and US Team member.
